Register voters for National Voter Registration Day!
We'll be on the ferries, at libraries, and other locations around Kitsap. See what we're doing here:
Volunteer Opportunities
----------------------------
Additionally, we will have a presence at Goodwill in Bremerton from September 14-17.
(NOTE: Because this is a collaboration with other groups, volunteering for Goodwill uses a different signup system than our normal volunteering. See links below.)
Last year the Bremerton/CK Unit joined with the Evergreen Goodwill and Common Power to register voters at the Bremerton Good on National Voter Registration Day (NVRD). We are once again recruiting volunteers for the 2024 National Voter Registration Day. This is actually a four-day event, beginning on Saturday, September 14, through NVRD, September 17th . If you volunteer for any of the shifts on any day, please let Candy Rankin or Maureen Cervinsky know. We will make sure you have the voter registration materials you need.
Jeanne Crevier, LWC-Snohomish, is coordinating this VR event and sent us the following details:
First, you should know that word is spreading! Now Clallam County is working with Goodwill to have a table on NVRD in Port Angeles and Sequim, and I've heard an unconfirmed rumor that Tacoma has some interest in this work, too. Now here's the scoop:
What: 4-day voter information/registration tabling event with like-minded community activist volunteers who are driven to increase voter turnout!
Who: Volunteers to staff the table! League members, friends, and community leaders are all welcome. This is a once-a-year, all-out collaborative effort with our other nonprofit, nonpartisan partners, rallying your community to participate in our democracy. Here in Snohomish County, we have asked our city DEI Commissions to help, and they show up!
When: Saturday, September 14 through Tuesday, September 17, 2024. Three shifts each day: 10am- 1pm, 12:30pm-3:30pm, 3pm-6pm.
Where: The Goodwill store in Bremerton. The store manager will know to expect you and will have all the supplies and technology you need.
Why: This is an outreach sustained over 4 days directly to folks who potentially are underrepresented and may not feel empowered to civically engage in your community.
How:
Volunteer sign-up link - Bremerton: https://www.mobilize.us/commonpower/event/638174
Training is required and will be held online:
Sept. 3, 4 - 5pm
Sept. 10, 4 - 5pm
Sept. 11, 4 - 5pm
Training registration link: https://www.mobilize.us/commonpower/event/638188
Try to fill as many shifts as you can -- remember, 3 shifts/day for 4 days. Common Power has the Mobilize app that allows us to track the shifts and easily see which are filled. We're hoping for 3 volunteers per shift so please encourage all volunteers to bring a friend (or two!). If no one signs up for a shift, the table is closed for that time period.
If you volunteer for any of the shifts on any day, please let Candy Rankin or Maureen Cervinsky know. We will make sure you have the voter registration materials you need.
